Single Stream Recycling Program
Single stream recycling means there is no longer a need to separate your recyclables. Place all accepted items loosely into recycling bin, bucket, or any other container marked “recycle.”
Items accepted include:
- Aluminum cans
- Metal food and beverage cans, including soup cans, vegetable cans, etc.
- Glass bottles and jars
- Plastic milk, water, juice, soda bottles
- Clean plastic food containers and cups 1-7
- Newspaper, magazines, catalogues, phone books, and all books
- Junk mail and home/office paper, including writing tablet paper, copier paper and printouts, bulletins, flyers, newsletters, envelopes, and colored paper
- Brown paper bags (grocery bags)
- Flattened clean cardboard boxes
NOT Accepted:
- Syringes, needles, and medical waste
- Explosives or hazardous materials – ammunition, motor oil, solvents, etc.
- Plastic Grocery Bags (if you have recyclable items in one of these bags, that is fine, but we will not accept bags of saved grocery bags)
- Food waste
- Packaging – block foam, packing peanuts, bubble wrap, shrink wrap, padded shipping envelopes, and plastic film
- Scrap metal
- No liquid left in aerosol cans
- Non-recyclable plastics like Styrofoam plastic cups
- Ceramics, drinking glasses, light bulbs of other non-recyclable glass
